Police tear-gas protesting teachers outside Bani Gala

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Teachers from across Punjab gathered outside Bani Gala and tried to stage a sit-in on Saturday.

The police fired tear gas and dispersed the protesters. The protesting teachers announced to stage sit-in outside Bani Gala.

Reacting to the protest, Punjab Minister for Education Murad Raas said that the teachers' protest is totally baseless. "Talks with teachers have been going on for the last two weeks. The teachers in contact with us are totally satisfied," he said.

The minister said neither any teacher was being removed nor salary of anyone was being withheld.
