Polio spreading from Afghanistan into Pakistan: WHO

UNITED NATION (92 News) - Committee monitoring steps taken to control Polio virus in Pakistan International Health Regulations Committee has said that polio virus is spreading into Pakistan via Afghanistan. The report issued on May 5 states that as many as three polio virus cases shifted from Afghanistan to Pakistan in the past six months. It also expressed satisfaction over Pakistan's export of the virus to other countries. "During the past six months, Pakistan has not exported any case to other countries," it said. It said that Pakistani authorities will have to take stringent steps to remove itself from restrictions placed on travelling.
