Political crisis worsens after no-trust as AJK PM Abdul Qayyum Niazi resigns

MUZAFFARABAD (92 News) - After the no-confidence motion, political crisis has worsened as Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi sent his resignation to PTI chairman Imran Khan.

In a message on Thursday, he said that he had informed Imran Khan about the facts during a meeting yesterday. "The premiership was a trust of Imran Khan and today I am returning it to him," he announced.

Earlier on Thursday, Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi had sacked ministers Sardar Tanvir Ilyas, Abdul Majid Khan, Ali Shan Soni, Khawaja Farooq and Akbar Ibrahim.

On Tuesday, no-confidence motion was submitted against Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Abdul Qayyum Niazi.

The no-confidence motion bears signatures of 25 members. It had proposed Sardar Tanvir Ilyas as the alternate prime minister. Of the 53-member House, 27 members are required for the success of the no-confidence motion.

Meanwhile, AJK Assembly Speaker Chaudhary Anwarul Haq had called a session for voting on the no-confidence motion on at 10am on April 15.
