ISLAMABAD (92 News) Pollen levels in Islamabad have surged to an alarming 45,916, sparking a rise in allergy-related health issues, particularly among those with asthma and other respiratory conditions.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department reports that Sector H-8 recorded the highest concentration of pollen, followed by Sector G-6 with 12,628 and Sector E-8 with 11,019 particles per cubic metre.
Medical professionals are concerned that prolonged exposure to high pollen levels could worsen symptoms for those with pre-existing respiratory conditions. In response, doctors are advising residents, particularly those vulnerable to allergies, to wear masks and limit outdoor activities.
Other areas, including Sector F-10, have reported pollen levels of 8,251. Experts urge residents to stay indoors during peak hours, keep windows closed, and use antihistamines as needed.
The rise in pollen levels has left many seeking medical attention for symptoms like sneezing, itchy eyes, and blocked noses.
Experts recommend timely medical advice to manage symptoms effectively and prevent further complications.
