Vote recount underway for PS-11 Shikarpur by-election

SHIKARPUR (92 News) – The vote recount is underway for the PS-11 Shikarpur by-election. Five candidates are participating in the by-polls but the tough competition is expected between Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Imtiaz Ahmad Shaikh and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Nasir Mehmood Soomro. Around 1,35,435 voters will exercise their right to vote constituency, while 105 polling stations have been set up. Strict security arrangements had been made as 700 Rangers personnel and 2,400 policemen were deployed in and around the polling stations. The seat had fallen vacant after the resignation of Imtiaz Sheikh, who had been elected on PML-Functional ticket in 2013.
