Polling for first ever LG polls in Islamabad tomorrow

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Polling for the second phase of the local bodies elections in federal capital will be held on Monday.

The polling will begin at 7:30am and continue till 5:30pm without any break. The equipment for electoral process has been handed over to Deputy Returning Officers (DROs).

Spokesman for the Election Commission said that the Presiding Officers deputed at the polling stations are receiving polling material, adding that the process will be completed today.

As many as 640 polling stations have been constituted and among them 216 polling stations have been constituted for males and 256 for females.

The security at the polling stations has been divided into three categories A,B and C, while the overall security has been divided into four zones.

At least one District Returning Officer (DRO), 10 Returning Officers (RO) and 20 Assistant Returning Officers (ARO), while 640 Presiding Officers have been deputed for the local government elections in Islamabad.

The DRO said that one Rangers personnel, one Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and four cops will be deputed at each polling station, while 62 polling stations have been declared sensitive among 640 polling stations, where the security arrangements would be double.
