QUETTA (92 News) – The vote count started after the polling for a Senate seat ended in Balochistan Assembly on Monday. The polling continued without any interval till 4pm. A tough contest is likely between Ghulam Nabi Marri of the Balochistan National Party (BNP) and Manzoor Kakar of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP). In all, five candidates are in the race for the seat. The seat was vacated after the death of Sardar Azam Musakhel of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party. The ruling party has 41 votes, while the opposition has 23 votes. However, estranged members of the ruling party could affect the election. According to the Election Commission, steps have been taken to make the election peaceful and transparent.
