ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Polling is in progress for Local Government Elections in federal capital, while the polling started at 7:30 this morning and will continue till 5:30 in the evening without any break.

Despite clear instructions from the ECP, the polling at several polling could not be started on time as the polling staff failed to reach their polling stations on time, while Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan visited different polling stations and reviewed the arrangements.

The ECP’s control room has also received complaints regarding polling staff. As many as 640 polling stations have been constituted and among them 216 polling stations have been constituted for males and 256 for females.

Strict security arrangements have been made during the first ever local government elections in the federal capital. The security at the polling stations has been divided into three categories A,B and C, while the overall security has been divided into four zones.

At least one District Returning Officer (DRO), 10 Returning Officers (RO) and 20 Assistant Returning Officers (ARO), while 640 Presiding Officers have been deputed for the local government elections in Islamabad.
