By-polls in NA-120 to be held tomorrow

LAHORE (92 News) – Polling in NA-120 Lahore by-election will be held on Sunday (September 17). The polling will be held from 8am to 5pm without any break as 321,633 registered voters including 179,505 male and 142,128 female voters will exercise their right to vote in NA-120 by-polls. A total of 220 Presiding officers, 568 Assistant Presiding Officers and 568 polling officers will perform their election duties. Meanwhile, all necessary administrative and security measures have been finalized to hold free, fair and impartial by-election. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has declared all the polling stations sensitive, while more than 1,500 army personnel will be deployed for the polls. The ECP is set to test biometric verification machines on 39 polling stations during NA-120 by-polls. As many as 44 candidates are taking part in the bye-election. Candidates of major political parties include Begum Kalsoom Nawaz from Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N), Faisal Mir from Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Dr Yasmeen Rashid from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The army will escort the presiding officers carrying ballot papers and other polling material to the polling stations.
