Pompeo telephones Gen Bajwa, discuss political reconciliation in Afghanistan

  WASHINGTON (92 News) – United States of America’s Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Thursday telephoned Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and discussed about various matters including strengthening the mutual ties between both the states. US State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert tweeted that Pompeo and General Bajwa discussed ways to enhance Pak-US bilateral relations and the need for political reconciliation in Afghanistan during their telephonic conversations. According to the tweet of Heather Nauert, other topics included the need for political reconciliation in Afghanistan and the importance of targeting all militant and terrorist groups in South Asia without distinction. Earlier, President of the United States Donald Trump had categorically said “no more” aid to Pakistan in his tweet. He said that they foolishly gave over 33 billion dollars in aid to Pakistan over the past 15 years. He slammed Pakistan for only providing lies and deceit in reaction.
