ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal said that the population growth rate had increased to 2.55 percent, while the people's living standard is facing challenges.
Talking to the media during his visit to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics on Friday, he said that data was an strategic asset in the progress of the country.
"We will put the country on the path to progress on the basis of this data," he added. He said that the government will increase the production by reducing the growth rate.
"A half of children are facing malnutrition, which is affecting their mental capability. The use of data will help planning as well as enhance the quality of decision-making. Time has come to benefit from the census," he declared.
