ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Federal Minister for Water Faisal Vawda has said that positive signals have been received from London for repatriation of Nawaz Sharif.

"For this purpose, three letters and several telephone calls as well as talks held between both the government at diplomatic level," he added.

Referring the contacts with the British government so far, the minister said that the response of the British authorities was very encouraging and the government of Pakistan was receiving positive signals regarding repatriation of Nawaz Sharif from London.

Talking to BBC, Faisal Vawda also said that the main reason for receiving positive signals from the British government is that Nawaz Sharif is a convicted criminal and he came to London under the pretext of treatment.

The federal minister further said that the content of Nawaz Sharif's speeches was also placed before the UK government and evidence of propaganda against Pakistan by India was also being presented. "It is being done to prove between the similarities through highlighting of both the statements," he maintained.

Faisal Vawda said that a copy of the Supreme Court decision on Nawaz Sharif's disqualification has also been placed before the British government under which Nawaz Sharif can neither participate in any election nor lead any political party for life.
