Powerful groups made money by occupying lands: PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the powerful groups made money by occupying lands.

Addressing the launching ceremony of the digitalization of land record on Wednesday, he said that land worth Rs 300 billion was occupied in Islamabad alone.

"Several groups were opponents of the digitalization of land record. About 50 percent cases in court pertain to lands," he added.

The prime minister said that lands owned by overseas Pakistanis are mostly occupied. "The development mapping of Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi will be completed in December," he declared.

He said that digitalization of land record will bring transparency in transfer of properties. "The use of technology will also help defeat land grabbers as now anyone can get information of plots and other lands online."
