PPP, JI oppose extension in military courts

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) have on Tuesday opposed the extension in period of military courts. A meeting of parliamentary parties was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. The meeting was attended by Federal Ministers Zhaid Hamid and Akram Durrani, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf vice president Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pakistan People’s Party leader (PPP) Naveed Qamar and Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour. Talking to media Khurshid Shah said that they will oppose the extension in the period of military courts. “We have already said that there was no need of military courts,” he added. He said: “The opposition has finalized its strategy and will not listen to anyone anymore.” On the other hand, the PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that they will give its opinion after hearing the government’s stance.
