PPP opposes NAB chairman's extension through ordinance

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has opposed the extension of NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal through an ordinance.

Senator Sherry Rehman said that the extension in the tenure of the NAB chairman is illegal and unconstitutional. "The government is depriving the opposition of the right to consultation. Are there no cases against Prime Minister Imran Khan and his ministers?" she questioned.

In a tweet, Senator Sherry Rehman said that the reforms being mentioned bby the government are basically an ordinance based on bad intent. "Reforms are for the future, not to save a man," she added.

She said that the government would have presented a bill in the parliament had it been sincere.
