PPP rejects poll results, demands resignation of chief election commissioner

KARACHI (92 News) – The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has rejected the election results and demanded immediate resignation of the chief election commissioner. Addressing a press conference after a high-level meeting on Friday, he said that the recent elections were not transparent. He said that other parties also have serious reservations on the elections, but he will propose them not to leave the parliament. “We will strongly do opposition and tell the people what the opposition is,” he said. “It was a difficult decision, but we have decided to reject all election process,” he maintained. He announced that he would go to the parliament and convince other parties to do the same. The PPP chairman said that he will fight against the rigging in the parliament. He said that the PPP had performed better in the elections.
