April 29, 2018
KARACHI (92 News) – The Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) is all set to exhibit its political ‘might’ in Karachi as its Chairman and other leaders are coming down to this town to address a jalsa (public meeting) to be held today (Sunday). The public meeting would be addressed by the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Co-Chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari and others. Welcome camps have surfaced like mushrooms in different parts of the city and party volunteers have been assigned duties to guide the caravans of PPP workers, coming to the city to attend public meeting, to the venue Tanki Ground Liaquatabad, the stronghold of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). The die-hard workers of the PPP, famously referred to as jiyalas, could be seen in every nook and corner of the city while fixing party banners and flags at highways, bridges, streets and on various buildings of the city. Besides, enthusiastic workers of the party could also be seen making rounds of the city in vehicles decorated with party flags. Blaring loudspeakers fixed on top of the vehicles played official party songs to attract people to the PPP’s public gathering. The political activities in the city had entirely changed the look of the city as the atmosphere remained charged due to the unparalleled zeal and passion of the jiyalas. The rally spot has been decorated with the party’s banners and flags. A stage has also been constructed with containers, while thousands of chairs have been placed at the venue of the public meeting. Fool-proof security arrangements have been made to avoid any untoward incident on the occasion. Heavy contingents of law enforcement agencies will also be deployed for security. Separate sitting arrangements have been made for the female supporters. The party is expecting a mammoth crowd today in the public meeting.
