ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari lashed out at political rivals and the military leadership on Tuesday. Addressing a function on Tuesday, the PPP co-chairman criticizes rivals, saying the PPP was a staunch supporter of democracy due to which his party backed the PML-N government to complete its tenure. He asked the military leadership not to test his calmness. Asif Zardari said military leadership come and go every three years but the political leadership is here to stay. “We know the country better and we know how to run its affairs,” he stressed. He said we know how to wage war and only we know how to do it. Asif Zardari said he did not want to weaken the country’s institutions, but they should not try to create hurdles for politicians. The PPP co-chairmain threatened to shut down entire country. The former president said at the time of Benazir Bhutto’s martyrdom, I raised the slogan “Pakistan Khapay” but there is a limit to everything. “You have changed everything into a game,” he said. Commenting on former president Pervez Musharraf, he said that the former president could not even spend three months in a jail. Asif Zardari said we wanted to strengthen democracy that was why we had not joined Captain (Imran Khan) during his street protest and resigned from the Parliament, elections would have been inevitable. “We are waiting for the right moment and our Party is not weak,” he said. The PPP co-chairman said that he cannot challenge Returning Officers elections but accepted the results because our family members were killed for democracy.
