PPP summons emergency meeting; Khursheeed Shah asks PM to resign

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – An emergency meeting of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership has been summoned in Islamabad today (Tuesday) in the after Joint Investigation Team (JIT), formed to probe Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family in Panamagate case, submitted its report in the Supreme Court.

The meeting will be chaired by PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

During the meeting, the law experts will brief the meeting regarding the report submitted by the six-man panel.

Earlier, Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah said that the prime minister should resign for the sake of democracy.

He said that yesterday, the democracy was in danger due to container but now the it is in danger due to the behavior of Nawaz Sharif and his party.

“The premier had said that he would resign if allegations against him proved and now Nawaz Sharif should fulfill his promise,” he added.
