KARACHI (92 News) – Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani has said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will resist the government decision to sack Pakistan Steel Mills employees. Addressing a press conference on Sunday, he said that the Sindh government is ready to run the mills if the federal government is not ready to run it. He said that the PPP had regularized the contract employees. “The PSM has 19,000 acres of land and the Sindh government owns it,” he added. Saeed Ghani said that the government should keep it. “The PM does not know about the decisions made in the cabinet. Imran Khan had also promised not to privatized,” he added. He said that 9,500 employees are being sacked by using the shoulder of the Supreme Court. “Has the government taken approval from the Council of Common Interests (CCI)? PTI leader Haleem Adil Sheikh, reacting to the statement, said that the PPP wants to run the PSM on the pattern of Thattha and Dadu sugar mills. “The PPP does not have technicians to operate ventilators, but it is talking about running the steel mills,” he said. He claimed Imran Khan had fulfilled the promise he made with the masses. Reacting to Saeed Ghani’s statement, Special Assistant to Prime Minster for Political Communication Shahbaz Gill said that the PPP is responsible for the destruction of the PPP. “Nowadays the PPP is shedding crocodile’s tears,” he said.
