ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) late on Saturday arrested Pakistan People’s leader and former Sindh information minister Sharjeel Memon from Islamabad Airport.

Memon was however released in some two hours after investigation. The release was made after verification of the documents of his protective bail.

The PPP leader arrived at Sindh House in Islamabad after the release. He has announced to hold a press conference today (Sunday) to explain the matter.

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah telephoned Memon for the details of the arrest and release.

Ending his self-exile, Memon had reached Islamabad in a foreign airline when officials in plain clothes arrested him and shifted him to the investigation centre of NAB in Rawalpindi.

The former provincial minister is allegedly involved in corruption worth billions of rupees. He is also enlisted in the Exit Control List.
