Prerogative of weapons use rests with state alone: Gen Bajwa
RAWALPINDI (92 News) – The 220th Corps Commanders' Conference has reiterated to continue its efforts for bringing enduring peace in the country while supporting all initiatives towards regional peace.
According to ISPR, the conference was held in Rawalpindi today (Tuesday) with Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa in the chair.
The conference also expressed its resolve to support government and all stake holders in implementation of National Action Plan. It also reviewed geo-strategic environment and ongoing situation along Eastern Border.

The geo-strategic environment and the ongoing situation along the eastern border was reviewed at the meeting, which expressed strong will, resolve and determination to defend the motherland against any misadventure of aggression.
The forum also reiterated resolve to continue its efforts for bringing enduring peace in the country while supporting all initiatives towards regional peace, the statement added.
Addressing the conference Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa said, “Having achieved stability against terrorism, Pakistan is on positive trajectory of becoming a state where prerogative of use of weapons rests with the state alone and socio-economic development is taking preeminence.”

Corps Commanders’ Conference resolves to thwart any misadventure
Earlier, the 219th Corps Commanders’ Conference was presided by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ.
The forum reviewed geo-strategic environment and situation due to ongoing Pakistan India standoff. It expressed strong will, resolve and determination to defend the motherland against any misadventure or aggression.
The meeting expressed concern over increased Indian atrocities in IOK after the Palwarna incident and continued deliberate targeting of civilians along the Line of Control (LoC) by Indian occupation forces.
“Continuity of such brutalities are only fuelling the fire and need to be stopped in the interest of regional peace which also merits world’s attention,” it concluded.
The forum also discussed progress of the National Action Plan 2014. The COAS, appreciating morale and performance of the forces, support from the nation and above all blessings of Almighty Allah, directed for continued state of vigilance and alertness so as to be prepared for response to any threat.
The COAS also directed to further the efforts in line with decisions of the government to accelerate implementation of the NAP while rendering full assistance to other state institutions.
“Pakistan is on the positive trajectory of peace, stability and progress. No one can make us budge through use of threat or force. Similarly, policy and the right of use of force will remain the prerogative of the state alone,” the COAS concluded.
