MULTAN (92 News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that the present economic situation is the result of the policies during the last decade. Talking to the media on Saturday, he said that the government is taking steps to reduce the inflation. “Changes in the PML-N are the result of internal rifts,” he claimed. The minister said that the PML-Q had supported the new local bodies system. He asked the opposition to respect the public mandate, saying the government should be allowed to complete the five-year tenure. He said that the PML-N leaders should tell the people why the changes were made in the party overnight. “The Gang of Four is making all decisions in the PML-N and even the PML-N lawmakers were unaware of the decisions,” he said. Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that other opposition parties have not been consulted on the nomination of Rana Tanveer. “It is being stated that Shehbaz Sharif is not returning to bad health,” he said. He claimed that China is with Pakistan in the economic progress of the country. “India spreads negative propaganda about Pak-China friendship. India is divided over the Masood Azhar issue,” he said. He said that tribal people have been facing difficult conditions for the last 17 years. “The Sindh government should give 3% fund for the war-torn areas,” he said.
Qureshi rules out presidential system in Pakistan
Earlier, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has ruled out the enforcement of the presidential system in the country. Addressing a press conference on Friday, he said that no one had two-thirds majority for amending the constitution. Questioning the change of the Public Accounts Commission (PAC) chairman, the foreign minister said that Raja Zafarul Haq was also surprised at the decision. “The PPP says that they have not been consulted while nominating Rana Tanveer Hussain,” he said.
