President approves nomination summary of new CJP Justice Asif Khosa

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – President Dr Arif Alvi on Wednesday approved the nomination summary of new Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Asif Saeed Khosa. According to the details, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa will take oath as the new CJP on January 18. However, oath-taking ceremony of Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa would be held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr. Meanwhile, CJP Mian Saqib Nisar will retire from his services on January 17. It is pertinent to mention here that the every judge of the Supreme Court retired on the age of 63 years; however, CJ Nisar also will retire on the age of 63 years. It was also reported that former senior judge of Indian Supreme Court Justice Madan Bhimarao Lokur will lead a three-member delegation of Indian judges who will arrive in Islamabad on January 18 through the Wagah Border. Justice Madan Bhimarao Lokur is a friend of Justice Asif Saeed Khosa who has been invited to attend the oath-taking ceremony. Madan Bhimarao Lokur retired as judge of the Indian top court on December 30, 2018. Earlier today, on the invitation of the Punjab Bar Council, a 32-member delegation of Indian lawyers reached Lahore via Wagah Border on Wednesday. Barrister Shehryar Riaz Sheikh, Abdul Latif, Rana Intizar Hussain, Pir Masood Chishti, Mahmood Bhatti and senior lawyers welcomed the visiting delegation. They presented bouquets to the visiting dignitaries.
