ISLAMABAD (92 News) - An anti-terrorism court acquitted President Arif Alvi, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak and others in the Parliament and PTV attack case on Tuesday.

Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood, Jahangir Tareen, Aleem Khan and Saifullah Niazi have also been acquitted in the terrorism case. On March 9, the court had reserved the verdict in the case.

On August 31, 2014, the PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers had marched towards the Prime Minister House. Clashes between the protesters and law enforcers resulted in the deaths of three PAT workers.

The protesters had stormed the PTV headquarters on Constitution Avenue and transmission was cut off for almost 30 minutes. Later, army troops had cleared the buildings and transmission was restored.

Later, Alvi along with other PTI leaders was nominated in the case under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) for allegedly attacking the buildings of the PTV and parliament.
