President Arif Alvi signs Finance (Amendment) Bill

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – President Dr Arif Alvi signed the Finance (Amendment) Bill on Saturday.

The president has granted approval under Article 75 of the Constitution.

On January 13, the National Assembly had approved the Finance (Amendment) Bill clause-wise.

The House rejected the amendments proposed by the opposition. On the occasion, Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen had said that they are not imposing new taxes and they are only documenting the economy. He said that out of Rs 343 billion, Rs 273 billion should go back in the rebate.

He said that their tax GDP has never gone from 18 to 20 percent, the opposition does not want the economy to be documented, because it will have to pay taxes.
