President Dr Arif Alvi promulgates ordinance to give overseas Pakistanis right to vote

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – President Dr Arif Alvi on Saturday promulgated an ordinance giving overseas Pakistanis the right to vote.

The ordinance has been promulgated under Article 89 of the Election Ordinance 2021.

The ordinance will enable overseas Pakistanis to vote through the technical assistance of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and another authority.

Under the ordinance, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will be bound to purchase electronic voting machine.
