President exceeded his mandate by proposing elections date, opine legal experts

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Hafiz Ihsan, a legal expert, has opined that President Dr Arif Alvi exceeded his mandate by proposing the elections date.

He said that it was not mandate of the President to present such proposals.

Syed Muhammad Ali, a national security expert, said that the President is forwarding the interests of a political party. "The President's act will bring economic instability in the country. President Arif Alvi has completed his tenure constitutionally," he maintained.

Ashfaq Tola, an economist, said that the President's announcement will have negative impacts on the economy. "What objectives the President wants to achieve through this act?" he questioned.

He said that the caretaker government is trying to improve the economy. "The ECP has already stated that the delimitation of constituencies will be completed before the elections," he added.
