President, PM urge adherence to SOPs to combat COVID-19 pandemic

ISLAMABAD ( 92 News) – President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan, while congratulating the nation on Eid-ul-Fitr, have urged the nation to keep adhering to the precautionary measures as the world is being ravaged by the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. In his message, President Dr Arif Alvi said that the nation with solidarity and precautionary measures would face the critical challenge of coronavirus. The president said that besides sharing joys of this holy occasion, the day reminded them to also include the needy and deserving people in these pleasures by paying special attention to such segments of the society. Dr Arif Alvi also prayed for the solidarity and strength of the nation for successfully overcoming the current COVID-19 pandemic. In his message, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that by sharing joys of Eid with the downtrodden and neglected segments of the society, they could transform the observance of the religious occasion into purposeful and objective event. The prime minister also emphasized upon observance of precautionary measures and government’s devised standard operating procedures with regard to COVID-19 as with such approach the people could save lives of their loved ones and the countrymen. The prime minister urged for completely imbibing the qualities of piety, discipline, and goodness which were being practiced during the holy month of Ramazan as permanent part of lives. He said that the humanity is facing the challenge of COVID-19 and all the countries were trying to control its spread. The prime minister stressed upon social distancing and precautionary measures which were the only methods to control its spread. Meanwhile, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa also congratulated the nation on the auspicious occasion of Eidul Fitr. In a tweet, he prayed to Almighty Allah for His blessings to tackle the challenges being faced by the country.
