President, Prime minister wish Christian community on Easter; Security tightened

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in their separate messages greeted the Christian community of Pakistan on occasion of Easter today (Sunday). Christians across the world and in Pakistan are celebrating Easter today which is an event of peace and harmony. In his statement, President Mamnoon stated that the Christians along with all other minorities of Pakistan are equal in the eyes of the State. He reiterated that the government's resolve and determination to prove all the rights to the minorities and for those who have lacked the basic rights to give complete justice. On the other hand, Prime Minister said that Government of Pakistan is concerned about the minorities and committed to safeguard their most fundamental rights. "It’s our responsibility to ensure safety, honor, life and property of all minority communities," he said. Security for the Churches has been beefed up across the country to avoid any untoward incident.
