Previous govt's IMF programme is cause of inflation, says PM Shehbaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the previous government's IMF programme is the cause of inflation in the country.

He was expressing these views during a meeting of the parliamentary party on Monday. "Imran Khan hatched a conspiracy to fail the IMF programme. His ministers were caught red-handed," he said, adding that the situation will improve soon.

The prime minister said that judges were hurled threats during the tenure of Imran Khan and references were filed against them.

He said that the former rulers had used indecent language against the friendly countries. "Serious allegations were levelled against the Chinese projects. A lie regarding the trade with Israel is being spread, which is condemnable. Pakistan will follow its principled stand till the rights to the Palestinians," he added.

PM Shehbaz Sharif said that the PML-N will steer the country out of crisis under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif. "Imran Khan trapped the country into economic quagmire," he maintained.

Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar gave the briefing to the meeting.
