Prime Minister Imran Khan expresses satisfaction over successful US tour

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed his satisfaction over the successful tour to the United States. He was presiding over a high-level meeting to review the outcome of his US visit at PM House on Thursday. The prime minister appreciated the vision of US President Donald Trump for establishment of peace and Pak-US relations. Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, DG ISI Lt Gen Faiz Hameed, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari and Pakistan Ambassador to the US Ali Jahangir also attended the meeting.
Will continue to remind people about last decade’s plunder: PM
On July 31, Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that he would continue to reiterate the plunder during the last decade so that people should not forget it. He was addressing the ceremony of signing a Memorandum of Understanding between Pakistan and United Nations Office for Project Services and Sustainable Housing Solutions for financial assistance in Naya Pakistan Housing Program. He said that a project would be launched to construct houses for fishermen in Gwadar. “There is a dearth of 12.5 million houses in the country. A majority of people do not have money to build their houses,” he said. The prime minister said that the youth would construct new construction companies. “We will adopt one-window method in Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme,” he said. He said that the housing project has great significance for running the economy. PM Imran Khan said that the government would construct five million housing units in the next five years to cater the housing needs of low income and salaried class. He said that signing of MoU with UNOPS will not only provide financial assistance but it will bring expertise to Pakistan. “In order to promote mortgage, the government has enacted foreclosure laws in the country.” The prime minister said that 40 industries are directly related to the construction industry and Naya Pakistan Housing programme will boost all these industries. He said that local material and labour will be used in construction of these houses to boost the economy. Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Housing and Works Tariq Bashir Cheema said that Naya Pakistan Housing program will not only build houses but also create jobs for public.
