ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Prime Minister Imran Khan says the government may go for early elections if he remains successful in defeating the no-confidence motion against him in the National Assembly.

In an interview, he said going for early elections is a good idea and will be better for the country.  He said he will fight till the last ball instead of opting to resign.

Responding to a question, Imran Khan said he wants a foreign policy aimed at protecting rights of the people of Pakistan and enhancing respect for the Green Passport. He said Pakistan's foreign policy should be based on having cordial relations with all the countries. He said Pakistan can be a partner in peace and not in a conflict.

Imran Khan said former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto pursued an independent foreign policy, but unfortunately, some internal elements in collaboration with the international forces, hatched a conspiracy against him.

He said what an irony it is that a foreign country is threatening Pakistan that Islamabad will have to face serious consequences if Imran Khan successfully sails through the no-confidence motion.

Answering a question, he said Pakistan needs a strong military and he will never utter a word against our Army. He said he will not do anything, which can weaken our Army. He said it is Nawaz Sharif and his daughter, who have been targeting the military. He said there are also threats to his life as foes of the country know the fact that Imran Khan will not sit silent over this conspiracy.

Talking about the foreign communication, encompassing threats to Pakistan, the Prime Minister said Leader of the Opposition Shahbaz Sharif was invited to the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security so that he can personally see veracity of the document, but he did not turn up.

Responding to another question about recent performance of PTI in Local Government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Prime Minister said our vote bank has enhanced in these polls, which shows rising popularity of our party among masses.
