Prime Minister Imran Khan says he himself will head agriculture sector

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced that he himself will head the agriculture sector.

Addressing a Kisan Card distribution ceremony on Monday, he said that the government is taking steps to increase the production of the agriculture sector. "I hope all records of wheat production will break this year," he said.

The prime minister said that the government would impart training to farmers to increase their production. "Through the Kisan Card, farmers will get subsidized fertilizers, seeds and pesticides besides loans and compensation for damaged crops in case of any natural calamity," he said.

He said that the Kisan Card scheme would bring about a revolution in the country by making the life of farmers easy through use of technology, enhancing agricultural production and saving foreign exchange. "It will also contribute to poverty reduction particularly in rural areas," he added.
