Prime Minister Imran Khan seeks report on Rohari train accident

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the Rohari train accident, seeking report on it. The prime minister also directed the Health Department officers to provide the best medical treatment. On Friday, 19 people were killed and 26 others injured when a bus hit a train at Kandhra Phattak, an unmanned railway crossing, near Rohari. Pakistan Express was going to Karachi from Punjab. The doomed bus was heading to Punjab from Karachi. The deceased, including eight men and four women, and the injured were shifted to hospital. Sindh Chief Secretary phoned the Sukkur commissioner and directed him to complete the rescue operation at the earliest. He declared an emergency in all hospitals of Sukkur. Meanwhile, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto has expressed grief over the deaths. He ordered the Sindh government to ensure timely treatment of the injured. “The increasing train accidents have put a question mark on the performance of the federal government,” he added. The PPP chairman said that the ministers busy in character assassination of rival politicians are least bothered about the lives of the people. Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid said that the accident had occurred due to negligence of the driver. On the other hand, Sindh Minister for Transport demanded that Sheikh Rashid should resign for his incompetence.
