WASHINGTON (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called on US President Barack Obama at Oval Office on Thursday. The US president said that Pak-America relations are not restricted to security, but both countries will continue to cooperate in future too. "Pakistan is the biggest democracy of the Muslim world. Democracy is strengthening during the Nawaz Sharif era." He also lauded Pakistan's role for peace, security and progress in the region. “Pakistanis are playing an important role in the progress of America as well,” he said. The US president said that Pakistan should use its influence for peace in the world. He also appreciated Pakistan's reform program. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan-America relations spanned over 70 years. He said that relations between both countries will be strengthened. In a joint declaration, both leaders resolved to cooperate for peace in the region and Khushal Pakistan. Both leaders also resolved for durable partnership. They also stressed the need to forward the strategic dialogues. PM Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, federal ministers Ch Nisar Ali Khan, Khawaja Asif, Ishaq Dar and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi were also present during the meeting. Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met US Vice-President Joe Biden. They discussed war against terrorism, Pak-America relations and other issues. The prime minister apprised the US vice-president of his government’s policies and priorities. Biden lauded the role of Pakistan in the war against terrorism.
