Nawaz Sharif inaugurates Multan Airport, says loadshedding to end in 2017

MULTAN (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that loadshedding will end as well as electricity will be available for new projects in 2017. He was addressing a ceremony after inaugurating the Multan International Airport on Monday. “I never promised to solve the power crisis in three or six months. However, 10,000 megawatts will be added to the system in 2017.” The prime minister said that the nation should unite against terrorism. He thanked former prime minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani for attending the ceremony. “Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani laid the foundation stone of the airport and we accomplished it.” He said that the new terminal was the long-standing demand of the people. He asked all political leaders to prepare the agenda of progress and support the government. “The uplift of Multan is part of a mega development programme.” He said that mango flights will spread Pakistan’s sweetness across the world. The prime minister said that the extension of Children Hospital is in the last phase. “The Nishtar Hospital Burn Unit has been completed and it will start providing facilities at the earliest,” he added. The prime minister said that a kidney centre in Multan is being started at a cost of Rs 870 million. He said that Rs 55 billion was given to purchase land for Lahore-Karachi Motorway, which will be completed soon. He disclosed that inter-city ring road will be constructed in Multan.
