Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif leaves for Norway, Russia on five-day tour

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has left for Norway to participate in the Oslo Summit on Education for Development on Monday. This is the first official visit of a Pakistani leader to Norway in over a decade. The prime minister will address the Education Summit and interact with several world leaders. He will hold delegation level talks with his Norwegian counterpart. He will also meet Crown Prince of Norway Haakon Magnus. The visit will provide an opportunity to the prime minister to discuss bilateral as well as global and regional issues with the Norwegian leadership. After the Norway visit, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will leave for Russia on two-day tour to attend a meeting of the leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. A spokesman for the Foreign Office said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will hold meetings with world leaders, including Indian PM Narendra Modi, and Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai. Russia has decided to support Pakistan for permanent membership of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
