Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif orders immediate arrest of Safora tragedy culprits

KARACHI (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has ordered immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the Safora tragedy. He was presiding over a high-level meeting on Wednesday. The prime minister expressed sorrow and grief over the firing incident in which 45 innocent people were targeted. He also directed the law-enforcement agencies to keep a close eye on anti-state and anti-social elements hell-bent upon blocking peace, progress and prosperity in the country. Nawaz Sharif expressed annoyance at the performance of the Sindh police. He directed to start a decisive activity against terrorists. The Director General Rangers and Inspector General Sindh briefed the prime minister about the law and order. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Dr Farooq Sattar, Secretary Interior, Corps Commander and DG Rangers also attended the meeting. Later, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited the house of Ismaili leader Sultan Alana and offered condolences over the tragedy. Former president Asif Ali Zardari, MQM leader Farooq Sattar, Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and MPA Hamyun Khan also accompanied him.
