ISLAMABAD (92 News) – British Royal couple, Prince William and Kate Middleton, visited Islamabad Model College for Girls at F-7 sector. The college administration warmly welcomed Prince William and Kate Middleton. Kate reached at the college dressed in a royal blue classic kurta with trousers and dupatta by Pakistani designer Maheen Khan. The royal couple examined the different department of the college. Prince William and Kate Middleton met with the students and visited the classes. The British guests started their activities in Pakistan from Girls College. It is pertinent to mention here that the Model College for Girls is a government-run school for disadvantaged from four to 18-year-olds, benefiting from the Teach for Pakistan programme based on the UK’s Teach First scheme. Later in the day Prince Willaim and Kate Middleton will visit the Margalla Hills in the foothills of the Himalayas. The British guests will also be part of a special event on the Pakistan Monument. They will attend the ceremony of a private institution.
Royal couple to meet PM, president today
The royal couple will also call on President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan today. As per the schedule of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge today, they will visit government schools at 10:00 am and will then leave for Trail 05 at 11:00 am to attend a ceremony about the environment.
Details of Royal Couple’s visit to Pakistan
On October 16, Prince William and Kate Middleton will visit SOS Children’s Villages, Aitchison College and Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Lahore. On October 17, the British royal couple will leave for Chitral and meet with the locals. It was also reported that if the security and weather would be normal then the British guests will also visit Dara Khyber, the fort. Then, on Friday, their last day of the five-day visit, the royal couple are set to visit the Faisal Mosque before their departure in the afternoon. The British royal couple will depart for home from Nur Khan Airbase on October 18 at 1pm. A day earlier, he royal couple – Prince William and Kate Middleton – reached Pakistan on a five-day official trip. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge landed at Nur Khan Airbase. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi welcomed the royal couple. Children presented the couple bouquets. Streets in Islamabad and around the country have been humming with festivities and celebrations to honour the royal pair with more than 1,000 police officers deployed for their security over the span of their five-day visit. The visit will be concluded on October 18. The visit comes 13 years after Charles and Camilla — the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwell — toured the country in 2006. Pakistan still remembers the late Princess Diana’s visit in 1996. The five-day visit comes as Britain seeks to reinvigorate its foreign relationships with Brexit looming, while Pakistan works to repair its global image to boost tourism and investment.
