LAHORE (92 News) – A tussle between Punjab government and private schools has emerged again after the provincial government decided to start summer vacations in schools across the province from May 24 due to the scorching heat across the country. The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashood. He said that now all schools will remain closed from 24th of this month to 14th of August but the private schools have refused to accept the government’s decision. The government had on Friday announced that the schools would open at 7am and will conclude lectures by 11am. The provincial government had further announced summer vacations from June 1. Earlier on May 19, the Sindh Education Department announced that all educational institutions in the province will remain closed from May 19 to July 25 due to searing heat.
