ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The All Pakistan Private School Federation (APPSF) has rejected the federal government’s decision to promote all students of Class 9 and 11. Addressing a press conference on Friday, APPSF president Kashif Mirza said that the exams should be held after adopting precautionary measures. “An amount of Rs25 billion received as boards fee and funds should be returned. The reopening of schools should be allowed under the SOPs from June 1,” he demanded. He said that the government’s decision to close the educational institutions till July 15 is anti-education. “It is impossible to compensate the loss of 20 million students due to the lockdown,” he added. He demanded that the prime minister should announce an ‘education relief package’. On the other hand, the Punjab Teachers Union has endorsed the government’s decision regarding promotion of students.
