Protesters demand resignation of POA president Gen (retd) Arif Hassan

LAHORE (92 News) – People from different walks of life stage a demonstration against Pakistan Olympic Association Gen (retd) Arif Hassan on Monday.

The protesters demanded resignation of the POA president.

Speaking on the occasion, Sports Organizer Col (retd) Asif Dar said that Arif Hassan had claimed of the good performance of athletes.

"Talha Talib was capable of getting a medal, but he did not get a coach. Najama Perveen was sent to the Olympics despite being unfit," he maintained.

He said that an office-bearer cannot keep two terms as per the Pakistan Sports Policy. "It is written in the Olympic Charter that the youth development is responsibility of the National Olympic Committee," he added.

Mahmood Naveed said that now Arif Hassan should resign. "Now the government also knows that the POA president cannot perform," he added.
