KARACHI (92 News) – The residents staged protest after a student was killed during police operation against drug peddlers at Sehrab Goth area in Karachi. As per details, a police operation conducted against drug peddlers in city’s Sehrab Goth area, it became violent when a teenager killed during the cross-fire between alleged drug dealers and law forces agencies. After the operation, the residents of the area staged protest to keep body in the Super Highway and blocked the road. After the operation, the people demonstrate protest against the police and declare them responsible the death of a student. The police used shelling and aerial firing to scatter the people. According to Malir SSP Shiraz Nazeer, the residents pelted stones on the police during the operation. He said that the suspects also threw stones which resulted in a few policemen being injured. The Malir SSP said that two drug dealers were injured during the firing, while they have arrested another two suspects. He said three to four policemen were also injured in the shoot-out. The mother of deceased said that his only single son came outside of the house to hear the voice of firing. – Police chief takes notice of incident – Police chief Dr Ameer Sheikh took the notice of Sehrab Goth firing incident and he sought a complete report from the DIG East. He asked how a student was killed during the operation. The mother of deceased said that his son was a student and the police killed him through firing.
