KARACHI (92 News) – Protests against Karachi Electric erupted on Monday, as different localities faced a large scale power breakdown for fourth time in a week. As per details, the residents staged protests after which a three-wheeler was set on fire. Enraged protesters burnt tires on Jamshed Road and blocked road for all kinds of traffic, raising slogans against the K-Electric. Meanwhile, a statement issued by K-electric declares high humidity levels as the reason behind tripping of Bin Qasim transmission line. It further stated that humidity level in Pipri area is about 99 percent. "The earth wire breakage tripped more than one line as it fell on another circuit," it said. "As a result, the north side of K-Electric was disconnected from the South side of the network."
