October 6, 2015
LAHORE (92 News) – The Lahore High Court has on Tuesday barred provincial administration from taking action against private schools in increased fee issue. The LHC Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza heard 15 petitions moved by the private schools, challenging the Private Educational and Regulation Ordinance 2015. The lawyers Asma Jahangir and Shahid Hamid from private schools appeared before the court and argued that the amendment ordinance presented by the provincial government is contrary to the provision of constitution. The applicants told the court that the fees are charged with the consent of the people, adding that the administration should be barred from disturbing owners of private schools. The court barred the provincial government from taking action against private schools and issued notice to Punjab government for November 5.
