Punjab Finance Minister Dr Ayesha Pasha presents Rs 1.4tr budget for FY2015-16

LAHORE (92 News) - Punjab Finance Minister Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha presented the Rs 1.447 trillion budget for the fiscal year 2015-16 in the Punjab Assembly amid opposition's slogans of 'shame, shame' on Friday. The government has set the target of providing jobs to one million youths till 2018. An amount of Rs 20 billion will be spent on the rehabilitation of people affected by floods. An increase of 7.5 percent has been made in the salaries and pension of government employees. As many as 50,000 tractors will be distributed among farmers and as many vehicles will be given to youths. There will be 50 percent increase in the registration of motorcycles. Two percent tax will be imposed on property. The tax on recreation, variety and circus shows will increase. Before the budget, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the government had allocated ample funds in the budget for development of all areas of the province. He said focus has been laid on health, education, energy, clean drinking water and construction of roads in rural areas.
