PSL: Foreign players arrive Lahore for final
March 5, 2017
LAHORE (92 News) – The foreign players and team staffer of Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators have on Sunday arrived in Lahore for today’s final of Pakistan Super League (PSL). All our foreign players – England's Dawid Malan, Chris Jordan and Samit Patel and the West Indian duo of Darren Sammy and Marlon Samuels have reached Allama Iqbal International Airport. Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi welcomed the players upon their arrival at the hotel. Quetta Gladiators’ Sir Viv Richards, Fielding Coach Julien Fountain and players Sean Ervine of Zimbabwe and Anamul Haq of Bangladesh have also reached Lahore. Anamul Haq said that he was not concerned about security and was happy to be in Pakistan. All players were escorted to a local hotel in a high-level security from the airport. Peshawar Zalmi will certainly be without star all-rounder Shahid Afridi who needed 12 stitches after damaging his right hand while fielding in Friday's 24-run win over the Karachi Kings which took his team to the title match. "Happier than ever to reach the finals, have shown their resolve for the title & my injury won’t stop them from winning," tweeted the 36-year-old who announced his international retirement during the competition.
