PSL scandal: PCB gives clean chit to Shahzaib Hasan, Zulfiqar Babar

LAHORE (92 News) – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given a clean chit to cricketer Shahzaib Hasan and Zulfiqar Babar. Addressing a press conference of Pakistan Super League (PSL) spot fixing scandal in Lahore on Monday, PCB chairman Shehryar Khan said that the entire nation is jolted by the PSL scam. He said that players not under investigation are believed to be clean. Khan said that a disciplinary committee would be formed once the probe ends. A senior judge will head the disciplinary committee, he said. The PCB chairman said that no action has been proposed against Shahzeb Hasan and Zulfiqar Babar. Khan says there should be no room for corrupt to return Khan said that he has snubbed Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif for spot fixing. He further said that Muhammad Irfan is still under investigation. He said that PCB’s commitment and action the cricketers allegedly involved in spot fixing have been lauded. PCB will investigate and punish the wrongdoers, he said, and added that ICC has been informed about PSL fixing reports. Each of the current players got a two-hour lecture by the PCB anti-corruption unit, he said. The PCB chairman said that Pakistan cricket needs educated players as lack of education leads to bad behavior.
