PSL spot fixing: PCB bans Muhammad Irfan for a year

LAHORE (92 News) – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has banned fast bowler Muhammad Irfan from playing for six months on the charges of Pakistan Super League (PSL) spot fixing case and imposed a fine of Rs 1 million.

The PCB spokesman said that Irfan is ineligible to play for Pakistan for a year. However, rehabilitation is possible in case of good behavior. The rehabilitation is subject to payment of fine and compliance with conditions.

Irfan submitted his reply regarding the charges of PSL spot fixing case in the PCB on Wednesday.  

Irfan pleaded guilty as charged while submitting his reply.

Speaking at a press conference, Irfan said that he received two spot fixing offers and apologized for failure to report them.

 Irfan's case would now go to the PCB disciplinary committee.

Irfan was charged with failing to promptly report ‘fixing’ approach.

The fast bowler is required to cooperate with PCB inquiry and to join education of emerging players.
